ABOUT ME

Anna Pelikan

I’m Anna, and I grew up on the Isle of Skye, surrounded by the traditional music, Gaelic  language, and rich culture that make this part of Scotland so special. The Highlands aren’t just my home - they’re part of who I am. I now live in Inverness with my lovely husband and two wonderful kids. Our home is full of music, laughter, and the smells of fresh baking.

My family is an interesting one. I’m proud to be related to Flora MacDonald, one of Scotland’s most iconic historical figures, and I can trace my ancestry all the way back to my 55th great-grandfather. Stories, heritage, and a deep sense of place have always been part of my life, and now I love sharing that with others through food, conversation, and connection.

Travel has always been a big passion of mine. It’s taught me that the most meaningful experiences come from spending time with locals, learning their customs, and sharing a meal around a table. That’s exactly what inspired me to create The Scottish Cooking Experience - to offer visitors to Scotland something personal, hands-on, and rooted in real Highland life.

Your host

Through these classes, I get to welcome people from all over the world into that warmth and share a little piece of our everyday life here in the Highlands. I can’t wait to meet you and share the stories, flavours, and traditions that have shaped my life.
